A new century.
A new millennium.
Downtown Bradford is added to the National Register of Historic Places.
What does that mean in human terms?
It means the city:

•  doesn’t demolish old buildings
•  doesn’t erase traces of the past
• doesn’t pretend to be “new”

It says:
“Yes. This is who we were. And we’re proud of it.”
The bricks remain.
The facades are preserved.
History isn’t hidden.
